Thoughts About 2020-2021 School Year- The Begining!

Can't believe we are starting the school year 2020-2021 with face to face and virtual learning.  Whichever I end of teaching I will find a way to make connections with my new students.

There are many on-line platforms to make those connections and I can't wait to use them via virtually or face to face as that format of teaching will have to change as well.

So just know that teachers realize we have to have a new plan for kids to be successful this year and we are up to the challenge.   Bring it on!

It's Been a While!

2013 was my last post and I have been super busy.  Between kids graduating and grand-kids being born, blogging was put on the back burner.
So, here I am in the summer of 2020, and it has been a crazy summer.  With schools going to on line learning, I was able to spend time working on me.  Improving in areas that I felt I needed more pd.  I was introduced to NGPF (Next Gen Personal Finance) and have taken over 70 hours of professional development.  Took an intense class on credit and banking so I could teach those TEKS and really feel like I understood the concept, as these were not taught to me as I went through middle school or even high school.  While Texas does a great job incorporating these topics into student TEKS throughout middle school, Texas still needs to make Personal Finance a requirement for high school graduation.   Now my goal is to help my students understand the importance of learning personal finance for their future. Check out all the great resources and pd Next Gen offers.  You to can grow and learn from this awesome resource.
